You asked, they answered. The Nevis, Juliana's XC hardtail, got on a training program this winter and has returned leaner, meaner, and ready to race. They lengthened the cockpit just a bit, which allows you to run a more modern bar/stem combo, and results in better handling. They optimized the carbon layup through the seat stays and seat tube, and kept the seat post size at 27.2mm, which adds some compliance you’ll appreciate when you’re 80 miles in to a 100-mile race. All the cables route internally –everything has either a tunnel or an easy-to-route cable guide to make it as hassle-free as possible.
This C-level carbon frame uses a slightly heavier, less-expensive grade of carbon fiber to achieve the same strength, stiffness, and durability you'll find in the CC-level frames, but they use a bit more of the material to achieve it. Real world result? A 280 gram increase in frame weight.
