Giro Synthe MIPS Road Helmet - 2020

The Synthe™ MIPS offers impressive cooling power, minimal weight, supreme fit and streamlined aerodynamic efficiency, and includes the Multi-DIrectional Impact Protection System, which can provide more protection in certain impacts. It is a true synthesis of many features a rider wants in a high performance road racing helmet. The compact and sleek design slices through the air and offers an optimal ventilation. But the Synthe's greatest attributes are comfort and ventilation. Micro adjustments allow you to custom tune tension and fore-aft tilt with one hand and a patented design suspends the helmet over the top of the skull, allowing airflow to pass freely over your head. Cooling power is further boosted by elaborate internal channeling and a series of massive vents.

The MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a slip-plane system within the helmet designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head possibly reducing head injury from rotational impacts.

Using a patented design that suspends the helmet just slightly off the top of the skull, Roc Loc® Air allows cool airflow to pass directly over your head, further enhancing the performance of vents and internal channeling that exhaust heat out of the helmet. Fit and feel adjustments mimic the Roc Loc® 5, allowing you to easily custom tune fit tension and fore-aft tilt of the helmet in seconds using a single hand.

The In-mold construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet's impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows for better ventilation systems, making in-mold helmets lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.

The result is a helmet that fits 98% of the world's population, yet looks (and fits) like it was custom made just for you.

The Wind Tunnel elaborate design combines active vents in the helmet's shell with exhaust channels inside the helmet that thrust fresh, cool air over and around the rider's head while forcing heat and stale air out.

The X-Static padding contains a fiber made with layers of pure silver that is permanently woven into the fabric. Silver has natural anti-microbial performance that helps to reduce odor and regulate heat, so your helmet stays fresh and comfortable, naturally. The Pads are machine washable.
